3 reasons why Teddy Bridgewater should not start in 2021

The confidence factor
It’s been evident for some time that large sections of the Carolina Panthers’ loyal fanbase have become disenchanted with Teddy Bridgewater’s inconsistent play.
Some didn’t give him a chance at all.
What side of the fence you’re on is a moot point at this juncture. But Bridgewater’s concerning regression over the course of the campaign now has his teammates and coaching staff thinking twice about his ability to take them where they want to go.
One only had to look at D.J. Moore‘s face after his unbelievable catch in double coverage against the New Orleans Saints to see that.
It was a look of frustration.
Of dismay.
The ball shouldn’t have been thrown in Moore’s direction. But he got his signal-caller out of jail with a remarkable grab that further demonstrated his immense ability, even though there have been some substantial chemistry issues between the two this season.
Once this sort of doubt creeps in, then there is nothing Bridgewater can do to alter it.
The player’s confidence – which is normally sky-high – has gone on the sort of downward curve that is normally accustomed to struggling quarterbacks of late. Bridgewater will no doubt welcome the break away from football with open arms, even if his future is now very much up in the air.
