Donte Jackson – Carolina Panthers CB

Donte Jackson may have had his troubles with injury this season. But there has been plenty to be encouraged about regarding his ability to produce the goods since the bye week.

The Carolina Panthers moved Jackson up to No. 1 on the depth chart during the offseason after letting James Bradberry walk in free agency. This was something that the former LSU standout appeared ready for, but a troublesome toe problem for most of the campaign resulted in many experts wondering whether it was a challenge too steep for the speedster.

A good period of rest for Jackson has done him the world of good.

And the Panthers can now be confident they have a tremendous player on their hands.

Carolina needs to work out the rotation both opposite Jackson and across the depth chart. But given what the 2018 second-round pick has shown the coaching staff down the stretch, it would be a huge shock if he wasn’t given another chance at the No. 1 position next season.

What comes next will be ultimately down to the player. If he can make additional strides with another offseason under his belt, then Jackson might be in line for a big payday of his own when his contract is up for renewal in 2022.
