Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

Robby Anderson‘s start to life with the Carolina Panthers was nothing short of sensational. The free-agent signing proved more than just the deep threat he was tagged with at the New York Jets and the wide receiver developed instant chemistry with Teddy Bridgewater to hit the ground running.

The former Temple star did manage to go over 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in his career, which was an objective Anderson set out before competitive action got underway. However, his stats would have looked even better had it not been for a stretch of games during the run-in that was more than a little concerning.

Anderson managed just 12 receptions from 22 targets over the final three games of the season. This resulted in exactly 100 receiving yards and one touchdown at the Washington Football Team in their final road game.

Putting all this on Anderson would be harsh. Bridgewater didn’t exactly provide consistent distribution under center throughout this period and opposing schemes were focusing on him a lot more after his superb opening to the campaign.

This was just a blip on what turned out to be an outstanding year for Anderson. He proved his doubters wrong in no uncertain terms and it wouldn’t be a shock to see Carolina extend him beyond 2021 this offseason.
