Bravvion Roy – Carolina Panthers DT

Head coach Matt Rhule brought plenty of familiar faces from his time in college to the Carolina Panthers this offseason. But his decision to select defensive tackle Bravvion Roy in the sixth round was nothing short of a masterstroke.

Roy has proven to be an extremely worthy member of the defensive line rotation, coming up with some eye-catching displays that leave plenty to get excited about once certain problems are ironed out.

Draft Grade: B+

For Roy to be performing this way as an unfancied prospect is notable. He will need to work on his conditioning in pursuit of a bigger role in 2021 and beyond, but the player is off to a fantastic start.

Stantley Thomas-Oliver – Carolina Panthers CB

Stantley Thomas-Oliver was given all the time in the world to develop by the Panthers, which was the smart way to go with a player that is still getting used to the cornerback position after making the transition from a wide receiver at Florida International.

That being said, Thomas-Oliver did make a good impression at certain stages of the campaign, even though there is still plenty of refinement needed to his game to make a significant difference moving forward.

The athleticism is undeniably there, but harnessing it is going to be key.

Draft Grade: C+

However, for a seventh-rounder who wasn’t really expected to do anything, Carolina can look to Thomas-Oliver’s future with some optimism. The time he’s had on the field – especially late in the campaign – is sure to do his overall development in the weeks and months ahead the world of good and the Panthers could have a real steal on their hands.
