3 reasons the Panthers should risk it all for Deshaun Watson

Proven production
Deshaun Watson’s production since entering the NFL as the No. 12 overall selection back in 2018 has been exceptional. The signal-caller shined during his time at Clemson and he has gotten even better in the pros to become one of the league’s best under center.
This was especially evident during the current campaign, which is one of the greatest individual seasons put together by a player that won’t ever be remembered. Watson secured a 70.2 percent completion percentage for 4,823 yards through the air, 33 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. His QBR was 71.0, Pro Football Focus graded him at a whopping 92.5, and he also contributed 444 yards rushing with three scores.
Imagine if Watson had been on the Carolina Panthers this season. They would undeniably be in the playoffs considering how many close games the team was involved in and just couldn’t get it done down the stretch.
Watson deserves better than the treatment he’s getting from the Texans, who don’t seem that willing to build a competitive organization around him and even removed his best offensive weapon in DeAndre Hopkins last year in one of the worst trades in living memory.
The quarterback is electrifying on any given down and he has the stats to back it up. Players of Watson’s undisputed quality don’t become available on the trade market too often – especially in their prime – so the Panthers should jump at the chance no matter how much it costs them.
