Christian Barmore – DT (Alabama)

The Carolina Panthers might be looking for defensive line depth further down the 2021 NFL Draft, so they would be wise to keep a close eye on the performance of Christian Barmore in the National Championship game.

Alabama’s ferocious interior lineman has enjoyed a standout campaign that is going to make him an intriguing prospect during the evaluation process with another eye-catching display in his last college game before taking the next step.

Barmore has a lot of tools that would be extremely useful to the Panthers in their bid to get a long-term partner for No. 7 overall selection Derrick Brown. He has the potential to come in and play the three-technique thanks to his explosive ability to rush the passer and providing he can brush up on his run support upon arrival to the next level, then someone is going to have a real player on their hands.

The prospect has seven sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, 32 tackles, and three passes defended this season. Barmore’s improvement over the last two years has been eye-catching, to say the least, and it won’t take long for an NFL team to fall in love with the player and ensure he goes in the first three rounds this spring.

Barmore possesses the physicality and athleticism that Carolina’s coaching staff sought heavily last year. So it wouldn’t be a huge shock to see him end up on the Panthers when it’s all said and done.
