4 Panthers players who could be on the trade block in 2021

Will Grier – Carolina Panthers QB
The Carolina Panthers might also decide that it’s time to cut their losses with Will Grier this offseason. His distinct lack of involvement throughout the campaign was a damning indictment on what the coaching staff thinks of his chances moving forward and getting a draft pick in return for a player with no real future with the organization would be wise.
Carolina found a couple of late gems in the 2020 NFL Draft such as Bravvion Roy and Stantley Thomas-Oliver, so if they could get something like this for Grier it would be a massive bonus.
This was another 2019 selection that didn’t pan out as expected.
And one that is sure to have contributed significantly to Marty Hurney’s dismissal.
Grier struggled to make any sort of impression when he was thrown to the wolves in two starts as a rookie. The former third-rounder has been preferred to P.J. Walker when Teddy Bridgewater got injured or benched this season and it’s clear that the player simply hasn’t done enough to impress head coach Matt Rhule and others.
There is every chance Grier becomes a success.
But that won’t happen in Carolina.
A fresh start for the West Virginia product might be welcome at this juncture. And if this season has taught us anything, it’s that talented backups are absolutely essential.
