Re-sign Taylor Moton

Another pressing priority for Scott Fitterer is getting stud offensive lineman Taylor Moton a new contract. The right tackle has been as consistent as they come over the last three seasons and took his game to even greater heights in 2020 to cement his status as one of the NFL’s best at the position.

This won’t be cheap.

But to keep the best, you have to pay.

The Carolina Panthers could be faced with the choice between keeping Moton or wide receiver Curtis Samuel, whose asking price has gone through the roof regarding a new deal after a standout campaign.

However, the decision shouldn’t be a hard one to make.

Samuel won’t be short of offers in free agency, of that there is little doubt. There is still a slight chance of the Panthers keeping both around, but considering other areas of the roster that need to be strengthened, it’s probably going to be Moton they give the cash to.

If Fitterer cannot come to an agreement with Moton before free agency begins, then it will surely come with the franchise tag being placed on the edge protector.

Whichever way it goes, Carolina and Fitterer cannot let Moton walk and it would be nothing short of a disaster if he was allowed to test the market.
