DERRICK BROWN. 6. player. 87. . .

Derrick Brown – Carolina Panthers DT

There was plenty of pressure on Derrick Brown‘s shoulders heading into the season. This is something that’s normally expected from the No. 7 overall selection, but he proved his doubters wrong on his way to an exceptional first season with the Carolina Panthers.

The defensive tackles quashed all worries about his ability to generate pressure in opposing backfields, despite being one of the most double-teamed players at the position. Brown’s run-stopping got better as the season went on and there is just no telling how much better the former Auburn standout is going to get with a less disrupted offseason under his belt.

. CURTIS SAMUEL. 5. player. 87. .

Curtis Samuel – Carolina Panthers WR

If this was Curtis Samuel‘s final season with the Panthers, then he left the organization on a high note. The do-it-all offensive weapon grew in stature with every passing game and is sure to get some significant money when free agency rolls around.

Carolina might not have the resources to keep Samuel thanks in no small part to the salary-cap coming down due to COVID-19 revenue losses. This would be a substantial blow to an offense that showed significant promise during the season.

However, players as dynamic as Samuel don’t go on trees, and going over 1,000 all-purpose yards won’t have gone unnoticed by teams looking to get the wideout to their franchise.

. . . JEREMY CHINN. 4. player. 87

Jeremy Chinn – Carolina Panthers OLB

To say Jeremy Chinn adjusted well to the next level would be something of an understatement. The Panthers made a bold decision to move up and take the Southern Illinois prospect at No. 64 overall and this was a game-changer in no uncertain terms.

Chinn won the outside linebacker job during training camp and was a revelation at the position despite his inexperience. He is a leading candidate for NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and the player’s rare ability to make everyone around him better is going to make him a star in no time at all.
