Which Carolina Panthers players who suffered injury problems this season could bounce back in 2021?

Considering what was expected of the Carolina Panthers in 2020, one could argue they slightly exceeded expectations. Many experts had them as a preseason favorite for the No. 1 overall selection and the chance to draft Clemson’s quarterback Trevor Lawrence. But their 5-11 record might even have looked a little better had they not fallen short in crucial stages of close-fought games.

This was all part of the steep learning curve in the first year of Matt Rhule’s reign. However, it is vital they take these experiences and put them to good use following what is sure to be another eventful offseason of personnel changes and big decisions in the coming months.

Carolina’s inability to mount a postseason push was also down to some key men spending time on the sidelines throughout the campaign. Injuries are all part of the NFL’s brutal nature but considering the Panthers came into the season with a distinct lack of quality depth, it impacted them more than most.

Let’s take a look at four Panthers players who suffered injury problems this season might just bounce back in 2021.

Dennis Daley – Carolina Panthers OL

All hope is not lost for Dennis Daley.

The former sixth-round pick was set to assume one of the starting roles on the interior protection after impressing during training camp. However, an injury shortly before competitive action got underway was something Daley never really recovered from and this restricted him to just 13 percent of Carolina’s offensive snaps throughout the campaign.

Daley wasn’t terrible by any stretch of the imagination. So there is a good chance the player can respond in a positive way with a good period of rest and recuperation during the offseason with a view to making a big statement next time around.
