5 Panthers off the table in any potential Deshaun Watson trade

Jeremy Chinn – Carolina Panthers OLB
Jeremy Chinn‘s rookie campaign was littered with memorable highlights. The Carolina Panthers struck gold when they traded back into the 2020 NFL Draft’s second round to select the former Southern Illinois standout and it didn’t take long to realize he was going to be a huge part of any success that comes the organization’s way in the coming years.
The Texans are probably going to want some talented players in addition to draft picks if they’re even going to consider trading Deshaun Watson.
But Chinn should not be one of them.
His high energy and big-play ability were there for all to see during his first season in a professional environment. Chinn’s transition to outside linebacker from his usual position of safety was seamless and extraordinary in equal measure, with the player emerging as a strong Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate thanks to his exceptional efforts.
Chinn is only going to get better over time. Whether he is moved to the backend after one campaign at the second level in 2021 remains to be seen. But wherever he lines up, it is sure to come with even more influence with another offseason under his belt.
Trading someone so talented is not an option, at least from the outside looking in. However, Watson is a generational player at the most important position on the field, so anything can happen.
