The Carolina Panthers will bring in two QBs

There is growing doubt surrounding the future of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. The Carolina Panthers made a big move to bring the former first-round pick into the organization during free agency last year and get rid of Cam Newton in the process, but things simply haven’t gone as all parties expected.

Bridgewater’s regression in both production and confidence was noticeable down the stretch. His inability to come through in close games was another concerning factor that won’t be overlooked and the Panthers now face a real dilemma with two years remaining on the player’s deal and no real out until 2022.

There will be changes to the quarterback room this offseason, of that there is little doubt. Owner David Tepper stated in his recent interview that Carolina will “do whatever it takes” to get a signal-caller who can “take them where we want to go”, which is another nail in the coffin for Bridgewater whichever way one looks at it.

Whether this is for a bombshell trade for Deshaun Watson or taking a quarterback at No. 8 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, Bridgewater has some extra competition on the way in the coming months.

Don’t be surprised if the Panthers bring in two quarterbacks who are capable of filling a starting role, which would put an end to backup Will Grier’s time with the franchise and leave former XFL standout P.J. Walker further down the pecking order.

Bridgewater worked exceptionally hard to earn another starting opportunity in the NFL. But he’ll know more than anybody that his efforts simply weren’t good enough.
