The Carolina Panthers should not hesitate if they get the chance to select Penei Sewell in the 2021 NFL Draft.

It proved to be a successful 2020 NFL Draft for the Carolina Panthers. They hit big with the majority of selections and regarding those who didn’t make a significant impact during their rookie campaigns, there does appear to be some hope that the likes of Troy Pride Jr. and Stantley Thomas-Oliver can make their presence felt with a little more time to develop.

The pressure is on for the Panthers to hit the jackpot this time around, too. They don’t have much in the way of financial resources available thanks to the salary-cap coming down after the league suffered substantial gameday losses thanks to COVID-19. So this makes finding the right college recruits even more important in their pursuit of becoming a playoff contender sooner rather than later.

There are plenty of loud calls for Carolina to select its quarterback of the future thanks to the inconsistent play of Teddy Bridgewater. But it would be a huge surprise if the top three prospects at the position were around when it’s time for the Panthers to go on the clock.

However, there is one player who they should not hesitate to select if he takes a tumble out of the top-five.

That man is Penei Sewell.

The Oregon standout is widely regarded as one of the best tackle prospects entering the league for some time. His production has been absolutely flawless during his time with the Ducks and although Sewell opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 health concerns, it should not hurt his stock whatsoever.

This represents an ideal situation for the Panthers and one they’d be wise to pull the trigger on if given the chance.
