Amari Rodgers – WR (Clemson)

The Carolina Panthers may be looking for additional wide receiver help if Curtis Samuel departs in free agency. His level of production in 2020 has seen the player’s stock go through the roof and if the former Ohio State star is allowed to test the free-agent market, it is sure to come with a bumper deal elsewhere.

Considering the more pressing need to fill other positions, the Panthers may look for a gem in the later rounds who can make a difference. Amari Rodgers fits into this category and the athleticism he displayed on Day 3 of practice at the 2021 Senior Bowl left plenty of reasons to be encouraged.

Rodgers had the benefit of having consensus No. 1 overall selection Trevor Lawrence getting him the football at Clemson. This resulted in the wideout generating 188 receptions, 2,144 receiving yards, and 15 touchdowns over a four-year spell with the Tigers.

His polished route-running and ability to get open quickly really caught the eye during one-on-one drills. Rodgers also made the most of the targets that came his way throughout scrimmages.

The prospect does his best work out of the slot, which is where the Panthers need help if Samuel leaves as expected. Rodgers is aggressive in his pursuit of catching the ball and is elusive enough to create more space for himself in pursuit of gaining additional yardage.
