Wyatt Davis – OG (Ohio State)

With the game on the line, Teddy Bridgewater wilted.

This was down not only to his poor decision-making at times. But his protection did him absolutely no favors whatsoever and often crumbled under pressure in the big moment.

There is plenty of doubt surrounding the five players who started for the Panthers in 2020. Four of them are out of contract and center Matt Paradis might find himself as a primary candidate for release to save Carolina more than $5 million that could be better spent elsewhere.

It’s vital for the organization to extend stud right tackle Taylor Moton, who is one of the best edge protectors in the business. However, if there was ever a time for the Panthers to undertake a complete makeover on their interior, this is the offseason to do it.

Drafting Wyatt Davis would be a good start.

The Ohio State standout is an accomplished blocker in running downs and more than holds his own in pass protection. Davis plays with ruthless aggression and possesses surprisingly good footwork for the player his size.

Taking him at  No. 8 overall would be a reach. But if the Panthers traded down it could put him on the shortlist and if he did end up in Carolina, there would be nobody happier than Bridgewater.
