4 Panthers players the team must build around for 2021 success

Christian McCaffrey – Carolina Panthers RB
There might be those who are willing to give up Christian McCaffrey in any trade to acquire Deshaun Watson. But it would be a massive surprise if the star running back wasn’t on the roster in 2021.
It was a frustrating 2020 season for McCaffrey, who was still performing at an exceptionally high standard even if it ended up being a fleeting contribution. The Carolina Panthers had their best player available for just three games and this was a key factor behind them coming up short on plenty of occasions in close contests.
Hopefully, with a good period of rest and recuperation, McCaffrey can get back to his old self next time around. His status as the best dual-threat back in the league might be under more scrutiny due to a lack of activity, so the All-Pro goes into the 2021 campaign with a big point to prove.
This is good news for the Panthers.
So if they get more in the way of production around him, it should see McCaffrey return to the heights of old.
More consistent quarterback play would help. Carolina should also improve their protection in the coming months which might be able to create more holes for McCaffrey to do damage.
Finding the right fits is going to be crucial. If the Panthers can do this, then it should enable the team and McCaffrey to thrive.
