3 trade packages for the Carolina Panthers to land J.J. Watt

Carolina Panthers trade package No. 2
If the Houston Texans want to squeeze a little bit more from a potential J.J. Watt trade package, then it might put off more than a few teams who aren’t necessarily classed as immediate contenders. The Carolina Panthers fall into this category, so they’d be wise not to jeopardize their current rebuilding efforts for a veteran who is rapidly heading into the twilight of his career.
Players like Watt are essential to any winning organization. He not only produces the goods on the field but also has the sort of leadership skills that inspire others around him in a positive light.
As stated previously, it’s hard to gauge just what this could do on Carolina’s young defense, who lost plenty of established locker room leaders last year. They came on leaps and bounds as the season progressed – which was expected given the talent at their disposal – so adding Watt to a pass-rush that also includes Brian Burns, Derrick Brown, and Yetur Gross-Matos is a mouth-watering prospect.
Three draft selections over the next three years – two third-rounders and a 2023 fifth-round pick – wouldn’t exactly be giving up the farm and would provide them with another dominant force that has the potential to assist right away.
This price might be a little rich for some. But the benefits are there for all to see.
