One standout feature of the Carolina Panthers during the season was the growth of their defensive line. The unit came on a significant amount as the campaign wore on, so there is every chance they can become even better with another offseason to hone their respective skills and develop chemistry.

Adding one or two more pieces could make all the difference. Carolina needs to find a long-term partner for Derrick Brown on the interior and another explosive edge rusher to compliment Brian Burns and Yetur Gross-Matos is another smart move.

Whether someone like Larry Ogunjobi will be in their price range is debatable.

But the least Carolina should be doing is making a call.

The defensive tackle has three seasons of solid starting experience with the Cleveland Browns – who will no doubt want to keep the player around at the right price – and Ogunjobi does have the sort of physical attributes that might work well with Brown if the pair did end up becoming a tandem.

Getting an exciting draft prospect on day two will be cheaper and something the Panthers will take a good look at. But it’s hard to look at Ogunjobi and not think he could make a massive impact.
