Round 2 (Pick No. 39)

Wyatt Davis – OG (Ohio State)

Now that the Carolina Panthers have their franchise quarterback in this scenario, it’s vital they get better protection in front of him. Deshaun Watson has proven more than capable of putting up significant numbers behind a less than stellar offensive line in Houston, but he won’t want to be running for his life in a different environment.

It all starts in the trenches for Carolina, who’ll probably be moving on from their two starting guards in 2020. Chris Reed and John Miller were inconsistent in pass protection and the sooner the Panthers get younger and more athletic in this area of the field, the better their chances will be moving forward.

Wyatt Davis represents tremendous value at No. 39 overall. There is a chance the Ohio State prospect goes higher than this thanks to his superb ability. But the Panthers should waste little time taking the player if the opportunity arises.

Davis plays with ruthless aggression and has all the makings of a successful player at the next level. He is a plug-and-play starter that boasts immense power and adaptability that should ensure a smooth transition to a professional environment

This would be an instant upgrade on anything Carolina currently has on its roster. It appears Taylor Moton and Matt Paradis are sticking around in 2021, so there will be a veteran presence on the line to further take the pressure off any incoming college recruits.
