5 free agents Panthers should target that nobody is talking about

Last season may have seen Kevin King regress slightly with the Green Bay Packers. But this is a player with a tremendous amount going for him providing he can return to his 2019 form when competitive action begins once again later this year.
The former second-round pick is facing an uncertain future after a 2020 campaign that was inconsistent. Whether Green Bay wants to keep him around or take their chances with someone else is still up in the air. However, considering the Carolina Panthers are desperately looking for a solid presence to put opposite Donte Jackson, it might be worth giving King a close look before picking out a shortlist of options.
It’s easy to forget that King emerged as one of the league’s best young cornerbacks in 2019. He recorded five interceptions and gave up just 49 receptions from 82 targets. So it might be a little too soon to give up on the player just yet.
The Packers are $5.8 million over the cap currently, according to Spotrac. This means financial resources will be at a premium even if cuts or restructures are decided upon, which might leave King on the outside looking in when it’s all said and done.
