Which 2021 NFL Draft prospects coming out of Ohio State should the Carolina Panthers target this spring?

Getting things right in terms of recruitment can always be difficult where the NFL Draft is concerned. The Carolina Panthers have done a nice job of this overall in recent years, which was especially evident with their 2020 class that looks to have a number of potential studs in the making if their rookie contributions were any indication.

The introduction of new general manager Scott Fitterer into the fold is another hugely positive appointment that will stand the Panthers in good stead when it’s time to take their next batch of college prospects. He gained a solid reputation for finding some real gems in the later rounds during his time with the Seattle Seahawks and was the team’s director of college scouting when they took a gamble on quarterback Russell Wilson which paid off handsomely.

Looking in the direction of Ohio State players might be a shrewd move, depending on how the draft plays out.

The Buckeyes enjoyed a phenomenal 2020 campaign that saw them topple Clemson in the college football playoff before eventually coming up short against Alabama in the National Championship game, with plenty of individuals appearing more than ready to make an instant contribution at the next level.

Much will depend on what Carolina does in free agency as to their specific draft needs. They’ve put themselves in a good position to make a little noise in the current financial climate and if the organization can mix this with some exciting players from the collegiate level, the better their postseason chances will be.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at five potential Ohio State prospects the Panthers might target in 2021.
