Christian McCaffrey’s desire

There appears little doubt that Christian McCaffrey is already chomping at the bit to get back down to business. His workout videos on social media depict a man on a mission, which will stand him and the Carolina Panthers in tremendous stead when it’s time to ramp up preparations for the 2021 campaign.

The NFL is a what have you done for me lately business.

And some seem to have forgotten just how good McCaffrey is.

The former first-round pick is arguably the best dual-threat running back in the NFL at the top of his game. An out-of-sight, out-of-mind mentality due to injury doesn’t change that.

Make no mistake, McCaffrey has heard all the trade talk and how much of an error it was on Carolina’s part to give him such a lucrative deal. So this extra bit of desire and motivation could be just what the player needs to light up the league at 100 percent health next time around.

There is nothing to suggest he is not more than capable of this. McCaffrey averaged 124.6 yards from scrimmage in the three games he took part in last time out, which saw the back depart early against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and miss the crucial final quarter of Carolina’s narrow loss at the Kansas City Chiefs.

Taking some of the load off McCaffrey to keep him fresh is going to be critical. But having a chip on his shoulder means good news for the Panthers.
