Carolina Panthers need veteran help quickly

There are going to be a number of veteran players who are looking for new homes when that might not have been the case in a normal NFL offseason. The Carolina Panthers have talented young players everywhere you look in terms of their depth chart, so what they need is some high-impact free agents that can bring immediate assistance.

Relying on NFL Draft prospects to come in and adjust quickly is something that benefitted the Panthers in 2020. But for them to take the next step and be realistically considered as a playoff hopeful, acquiring experience will be key to further assist this young roster to reach its potential.

The longer Carolina waits, the less quality will be available.

Some players will have more upside once the bigger names have left the market. However, this can be something of a crapshoot and one that might do more harm than good if mistakes are made.

Scott Fitterer appears to be a smart guy. If the right opportunity presents itself early in free agency, the Panthers will take it. But passing on potential recruits in the hope something better might come along later on during the free-agent period is simply not the right way to build a winning roster.
