Curtis Samuel – WR

As of the time of writing, no team has yet to agree to terms with wide receiver Curtis Samuel. The market for players at the position has been relatively slow compared to other positional groups. But all it’s going to take is the first major domino to fall before the others follow.

Samuel is going to earn himself some serious money in the coming days after putting together a career year before entering the free-agent market. The Carolina Panthers rightfully used their franchise tag on right tackle Taylor Moton, so they don’t appear to be in a position to offer the former Ohio State standout the sort of money he’s looking for at this juncture.

According to multiple reports, there are a number of teams looking to bring Samuel on board. So if this results in an auction of sorts, it is only going to work in the player’s favor financially.

Losing Samuel will be a big blow to the Panthers, whose roster is going to look far different once again in 2021. Spotrac projects the 2017 second-round pick to command an annual salary of $12.4 million on a four-year, $49.96 million deal, which is major money in itself.

However, if reports are to be believed and a bidding war is already underway, it might see Samuel make even more than this despite having just one season of what could be described as outstanding production.
