3 teams that could take Efe Obada from the Panthers in free agency

Minnesota Vikings
It’s clear that the Minnesota Vikings are going to focus their priorities on the defensive side of the ball both during free agency and the 2021 NFL Draft. The unit was one of real weakness for the first time in Mike Zimmer’s reign and although they will be getting back stud edge rusher Danielle Hunter and Michael Pierce next season, more will be needed if the organization wants to enter the playoff picture once again.
Someone with the versatility and high character of Efe Obada is well worth a look from Minnesota’s point of view. His contract expectations shouldn’t put the Vikings off despite little in the way of money to throw around in the coming weeks and have the ability to impact anywhere on the line of scrimmage is sure to generate some interest in the player’s direction.
Even if Hunter does come back to full health, Zimmer needs additional weapons who are capable of getting into the backfield consistently. Having a Pro Bowler taking up attention on the edge takes the primary focus away from others, which could see Obada thrive in this particular scenario.
It’s important to remember that the Carolina Panthers have the option to bring Obada back into the fold. However, if they choose to let him walk then there are far worse situations for the veteran to end up than the one in Minnesota.
