Las Vegas Raiders

To say things took a disappointing turn for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020 would be something of an understatement. A promising start was swiftly followed by yet more underachievement from a talented young roster that leaves head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock under increasing pressure to turn things around this spring.

One area in particular where the Raiders really struggled was generating sacks. They averaged just 1.3 per game, which was ranked No. 30 across the league – so if they want to start making their presence felt in a hugely competitive AFC West, things need to change in this regard, and quickly.

Gruden has always been big on athleticism, which is something Efe Obada has in abundance. Another thing that might attract Las Vegas to the defensive end is his work ethic and willingness to improve, so this doesn’t appear to be the strangest idea in the world when one delves a little deeper into the prospect.

The time has been and gone for the Raiders to rely on draft picks getting them out of the hole they left themselves in when the team decided to trade away Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears.

This roster needs immediate help. So Obada could be a shrewd pickup if the team managed to put together a financial package that the Carolina Panthers were unable to match.
