Denzel Perryman’s explosiveness

If there is one eye-catching feature where Denzel Perryman is concerned, it’s how explosive he is. The former Miami star has tremendous instincts that are matched by a quick burst that is hard not to leave one impressed whenever he is on the field.

This is something the Carolina Panthers sorely lacked without Luke Kuechly, especially when free-agent signing Tahir Whitehead was on the field. Things did get better when Jermaine Carter was installed into the lineup and the addition of Perryman gives Phil Snow another dynamic presence at the second level in the event stud rookie Jeremy Chinn is moved back to his preferred position of safety in 2021.

As stated previously, Perryman has been injured a lot during his career. But that should not detract from what an outstanding player he is when firing on all cylinders.

Want further proof? Perryman’s contribution in 2020 saw him earn an exceptional 83.3 grade from Pro Football Focus.

This isn’t exactly the be-all and end-all when it comes to performance. However, it a pretty strong indicator that Perryman has the potential to make a real difference from the word go in Carolina.

He looks tailor-made for the way Matt Rhule and Phil Snow have approached defensive structure since joining the organization. So it would be a big surprise if Perryman didn’t hit the ground running.
