There are some injury concerns where Garon Conley is concerned. He missed the entire 2020 campaign with an ankle problem that needed surgery and the former first-round pick would need to prove his fitness to any potential suitor in free agency to secure a new home.

That being said, Conley did show signs of life with the Houston Texans in 2019 after they traded a third-rounder to the Las Vegas Raiders to acquire his services. Things didn’t go according to plan for the Ohio State product during the early part of his career. But it is a little too soon to be giving up on him just yet.

Much like Donte Jackson, Conley possesses exceptional speed and goes down the field well with receivers. He does have some problems when it comes to decision-making that is often punished. But providing he can adjust accordingly in Phil, Snow’s scheme, there is a lot to like about this potential signing.

Getting Conley to Carolina isn’t going to cost the earth, especially considering the player missed all of last season.

A one-year, incentivized deal might be a win-win for both parties given the current state of affairs across the league. If it works out, a bigger payday would be in the offing this time next year.
