How many sacks can Burns and Reddick generate?

Much will depend on whether the Carolina Panthers can avoid the sluggish start that cost them dear in 2020. But the potential for big numbers where Brian Burns and Haason Reddick are concerned is there for all to see.

This is a duo that relies heavily on speed to get themselves to the point of attack. There is just too much in the way of talent around them to fail and if they can gain 20+ sacks between them, it will be a huge shot in the arm for a defense that made some notable strides during the previous campaign.

That is a lofty target to aim for, but it is a realistic one if what we saw from them last season is any indication. Reddick and Burns will need to build on their positive momentum and work hard this offseason, but if the necessary improvements are made they are going to be incredibly hard to stop.

Prediction: 24 sacks

We project Burns and Reddick to accumulate 24 quarterback takedowns between them next season. This would be a little less than the whole team accumulated last time around but considering how much improvement we should see from Derrick Brown and Yetur Gross-Matos, they should far eclipse the level seen in 2020.

It would not be a shock to see Burns enter the 10-15 sack range when competitive action begins in 2021. While it will be difficult for Reddick to match the heights set during his final season with the Arizona Cardinals, he should also be targeting double-digits as a minimum.

Simply put, Burns and Reddick are going to terrorize offensive lines next season. That spells nothing but good news for the Panthers.
