Corn Elder – CB

  • Suitors – Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles.

One of the more surprising contributors for the Carolina Panthers in 2020 was Corn Elder. He was right on the roster bubble heading into training camp last year before not only winning a place on the rotation but also performing exceptionally well with more responsibility on his shoulders.

The cornerback is still sitting on the free-agent market, which is something of a surprise considering how well he covered from the slot last time out. The Panthers are desperately short of options in this area and should contemplate bringing Elder back, at the very least.

If this doesn’t come to fruition for any reason, then at least the player now has enough in the way of game day production for a few teams to look in his direction. The Philadelphia Eagles are one such team who are crying out for more experience and consistency from their cornerback unit, which Elder could provide at the right price.

It would be a huge surprise if Elder didn’t build on his promising 2020 campaign – which some say has been a long time coming after the player struggled to make his way in the NFL prior to the season. The Panthers haven’t brought many out-of-contract players back as yet, but the corner would be a strong candidate once the market settles down.
