Marquez Stevenson – Houston

Another potential late-round prospect that has a ton of upside is Marquez Stevenson. The Houston standout has shown real progression over his college career and although he turned out just five times during the 2020 season, a strong showing at the Senior Bowl could have him on the Carolina Panthers’ radar depending on how the 2021 NFL Draft plays out.

Stevenson has had some injury problems in college. But his potential for big plays is there for all to see.

He excels working out of the slot thanks to his ability to create valuable yards after the catch, with his potential influence on special teams as a kick returner another factor to his game that shouldn’t be overlooked.

The prospect has assured hands and can stretch the field thanks to his quick-twitch speed. There are some things to work on once Stevenson gets to the next level. But if the Panthers get an opportunity to take him with one of their later selections, it is a proposition well worth considering.

There wouldn’t be a great deal of pressure for Stevenson to make an immediate impact. This would allow him to work on route technique and avoiding complications in press coverage while making an impact in the return game.
