Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

  • 2021 salary-cap hit: $12 million

Robby Anderson is entering the last year of what has been a solid deal for the Carolina Panthers. He will be reunited with his former quarterback Sam Darnold from their time together on the New York Jets and is likely in for a big campaign after proving to be more than just a home run hitter during his opening year with the franchise.

Anderson is a speedster with above-average hands and solid route running abilities. He is coming off his first season with over 1,000 receiving yards and is likely a bargain with an $8-million dollar base salary – something that few expected when he joined the team last spring.

The former Temple star will complete what is a very talented trio of skill players for the Panthers with Christian McCaffrey and D.J. Moore. But someone else needs to step up after Curtis Samuel departed in free agency for the Washington Football Team.

If the Panthers can protect Darnold they are going to score points and open it up over the top. This is a team with a quarterback now built around explosive plays and young speedy players who are going to fill up the highlight reels.

Anderson is a great piece who is entering a contract season. It is going to be a big year for the underrated wideout and one that could see a bumper payday coming his way with another solid year of production.
