Jaycee Horn – South Carolina

There are few cornerbacks entering the 2021 NFL Draft this year with more momentum than Jaycee Horn. The player is riding on the crest of a wave after a sensational college career at South Carolina and his eye-catching display of athletic prowess during the Gamecocks’ pro day did nothing to dispel the notion he’s going to be a top player at the next level.

Head coach Matt Rhule made the short trip to see Horn for himself and will no doubt have left more than impressed. He is another prospect who comes from good stock, with father Joe Horn a four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver who generated 8,744 yards and 58 touchdowns during a glittering career.

His son has gone in the opposite direction and is looking to prevent touchdowns rather than score them. Horn has the right length, can play outside or as a slot corner, and has supreme physicality at the point of attack that makes him a force to be reckoned with in press coverage.

Horn has no trouble coming down to assist in run support, which is another standout feature that shouldn’t be overlooked.

If the Carolina Panthers want to take a chance at No. 8, then he will enter their thoughts. But they could also get the prospect a little lower down if they go the route of trading back to get some picks back they gave up during the Sam Darnold move.
