4 Panthers players who could be traded for more draft picks

Teddy Bridgewater – Carolina Panthers QB
The writing is officially on the wall for Teddy Bridgewater after just one season under center for the Carolina Panthers. Sam Darnold’s arrival via trade has resulted in the organization granting permission for the player to seek a new home elsewhere, which could see another mid-round selection coming their way if a willing suitor comes to the table.
This isn’t what anybody hoped for when the Panthers signed Bridgewater. But it is something many expected considering the quarterback’s obvious limitations.
Teams will know the situation regarding Bridgewater. So they might be willing to wait it out and see if Carolina ends up releasing him despite the substantial dead-cap they’d be taking on with such a move.
At the very least, any potential trade will probably involve some sacrifice from the Panthers’ perspective in terms of taking on some of his guaranteed money to make this possible. So it really is a precarious situation and one the decision-makers must handle with care.
Either way, Bridgewater is out of the door.
The Panthers clearly saw enough from the former first-round pick to suggest he is not going to take them where they want to go and even though Darnold represents another huge risk, he has more upside at this particular juncture.
Only time will tell as to whether this was the right call to make. But Bridgewater’s failure to get things done when it mattered most has ended up costing him his job.
