Scott Fitterer – Carolina Panthers General Manager

Perhaps the biggest addition to the Carolina Panthers this offseason is not on the field but in the front office. Scott Fitterer was appointed general manager after wowing David Tepper and Matt Rhule during the interview process, which is a well-deserved promotion after such an impressive stint in various roles for the Seattle Seahawks.

One of the main things Fitterer has going for him is an exceptional record of finding gems late in the draft. He was director of college scouting when the Seahawks took Russell Wilson out of Wisconsin and is also responsible for many other top NFL players who had little in the way of expectations coming into the league.

If he can this sort of success in his new role, then the sky is the limit.

Carolina has some knowledgeable people in place alongside Fitterer to assist his transition. But the buck will ultimately stop with him in deciding which way they’re going to go down.

Matt Rhule will also need to sign off on whatever moves Fitterer plans to make, which could bring around some complications if the two parties don’t agree. However, they seem to have developed a close working relationship extremely quickly and this is only going to mean good things for the Panthers moving forward.
