Which free agents could the Carolina Panthers regret not getting their hands on when the 2021 season gets underway?
It was an impressive period of the offseason in regards to free agency for the Carolina Panthers. They didn’t have much in the way of financial resources available thanks to a shrinking salary cap. But with a couple of sacrifices and some creative restructures, they were able to do enough to bring in some high-quality players that should aid their bid for further progression under head coach Matt Rhule in 2021.
It won’t be easy by any stretch of the imagination. Much will also depend on just how well the Panthers draft their next batch of college recruits later this month, which could have some significant ramifications if those in power don’t get things right.
As is normally the case with every free-agent period, there were some shrewd moves and others that got away from Carolina.
Carolina Panthers have some clear holes to fill.
The team can be extremely pleased with what sort of veterans they managed to bring in at the right price. But there are some obvious individuals who went elsewhere that could have made a massive difference looking at their roster as it stands.
There is no point in examining what might have been. The Panthers clearly feel confident that with a strong draft they can be much more competitive next time around, with a new quarterback also acquired by trading for Sam Darnold from the New York Jets.
With this in mind, let’s take a look at four free agents that Carolina might regret not signing in 2021.
