OT. CHRISTIANDARRISAW. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 847. VIRGINIA TECH. 16

Christian Darrisaw – OT (Virginia Tech)

Christian Darrisaw is a brut force protecting the edge that could come into the Carolina Panthers’ thoughts if they decide to trade down from No. 8 for additional draft capital. The left tackle has Day 1 starter written all over him and has the necessary technique, footwork, and power to make a big difference.

17. 819. Pick Analysis. NOTRE DAME. JEREMIAH OWUSU-KORAMOAH. player. Scouting Report. LB

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah – LB (Notre Dame)

As far as physically gifted prospects go, then Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is right up there. The linebacker represents a sideline-to-sideline threat that is going to be a big hit in the pros. So with some extra development and reps, the Notre Dame force is only going to get better with age.

18. player. Scouting Report. MINNESOTA. RASHODBATEMAN. 852. Pick Analysis. WR

Rashod Bateman – WR (Minnesota)

After the first elite crop of wide receivers come off the board, then expect to hear Rashod Bateman’s name a lot. He is a dynamic force that creates separation quickly, with his route-running and ball skills set to make a smooth transition and well worthy of a first-round pick later this month.

19. player. 808. Scouting Report. OL. USC. ALIJAH VERA-TUCKER. Pick Analysis

Alijah Vera-Tucker – OL (USC)

There is a lot to like about the sort of skill set Alijah Vera-Tucker brings to the table. He has the ability to play at left tackle or at guard if needs be – which is something the Carolina Panthers love in their draft recruits. But while picking him at No. 8 doesn’t seem that realistic, the USC product comes into consideration with a trade down with a team looking for their next star quarterback.

TCU. 872. S. TREVORMOEHRIG. 20. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Trevor Moehrig – S (TCU)

A gifted ballhawk who makes things happen on the backend, Trevor Moehrig represents a Day 1 starter that could provide a team with immediate assistance at safety. He has all the athletic skills needed to thrive at the next level and if the Carolina Panthers are looking for a long-term partner to put alongside Jeremy Chinn, they could do far worse than look in his direction.

MIAMI. player. 834. JAELANPHILLIPS. 21. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. DE/OLB

Jaelan Phillips – DE/OLB (Miami)

This doesn’t appear to be the deepest draft class for defensive linemen, so this might ensure Jaelan Phillips is one of the first names called at the position. The edge rusher is explosive, powerful, and has the sort of physique that is only going to get better in the years to come.
