4 prospects who could take Christian McCaffrey to new heights in 2021

Tommy Tremble – TE (Notre Dame)
This might look like an odd choice from the outside looking in. But the Carolina Panthers need to find a tight end who is capable of blocking the edge after Chris Manhertz left in free agency for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Manhertz may not have been much of a threat in the passing game. However, the veteran was normally pretty solid when it came to resisting oncoming rushers and helping Christian McCaffrey gain extra space on the edge.
One prospect that might be able to fill the void and then some is Tommy Tremble. The former Notre Dame star has far more in the way of pass-catching ability than Manhertz provided the Panthers and he also specializes in getting out on the move to block on the outside.
Much will depend on what Carolina during the first two days of the draft. It would be a big surprise if Tremble lasted beyond Round 3 and although expecting miracles from the player right away would be unrealistic, there is nothing to suggest he cannot fill the Manhertz role whilst getting other areas of his game up to the required standard.
The Panthers made a nice pick-up in the form of Dan Arnold from the Arizona Cardinals to provide more assistance in the passing game. Adding Tremble gives them a different dimension and someone who does have some potential to be a complete tight end with a little more refinement.
