5 silent assassins on defense the Panthers could draft in 2021

Charles Snowden – LB (Virginia)
Undrafted free-agent Jordan Mack was placed on the reserve/retired list by the Carolina Panthers after he opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 health concerns, ending his NFL career before it started. However, if the organization wants to pick up another Virginia prospect that can take his spot on the depth chart, then Charles Snowden is someone that should enter their thoughts.
To say Snowden is an imposing figure for a linebacker would be something of an understatement. He is listed at 6-foot-6 and 232 pounds with the college production to match. His ability to play anywhere on the second level something the Panthers sought in almost every college recruit last year.
Snowden is probably best-suited to an outside linebacker at the next level thanks to his eye-catching length and mobility. There is some coaching up needed regarding the player’s technique, but his physical attributes should guarantee a team take a chance on him late in Day 2 or early in Day 3.
Adding some more bulk to cope with the rigors of the NFL would also be a strong recommendation for Snowden. Becoming a little more flexible in coverage would also be another useful tool to his arsenal, but his skill set typifies an under-the-radar prospect worthy of consideration.
