6 tight ends the Carolina Panthers could pick in the 2021 NFL Draft
Tre’ McKitty – Georgia
Georgia Bulldog tight end Tre’ McKitty would be a solid No. 2 option during the third day of the NFL Draft. The prospect played at Florida State for three seasons before transferring to Georgia in 2020, playing in four games and recording six receptions, 108 receiving yards, and one touchdown.
His knee was scoped at the beginning of the year. So it is not clear just how healthy McKitty was which may have affected his opportunities in the Bulldog’s passing game.
McKitty has decent speed and his route-running could use work but he has solid hands, he’s effective as an underneath receiver, presents a big target, and has the potential to be a red zone threat.
Kenny Yeboah – Ole Miss
You must be kidding if you didn’t think this list wouldn’t include one player connected to Carolina Panthers’ coach Matt Rhule. Kenny Yeboah was recruited to Temple and played for the head coach in 2016 before transferring to Ole Miss last season.
At Temple, Yeboah totaled 47 receptions, 538 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. Last season at Ole Miss, he brought in 27 catches for 524 yards and six scores despite the increase in competition.
Yeboah has great hands and can run multiple routes; most of his catches are over the middle. The prospect has been effective in run blocking but has room to grow. He has shown flashes of being a red zone threat.
His leap in production from his time at Temple to last season at Ole Miss has definitely caught the eyes of teams around the league. Yeboah is an intriguing prospect worthy of a pick in the sixth round as a developmental tight end.
