Scott Fitterer going through with BPA

Many scoffed at the notion that the Carolina Panthers were in any sort of position to be taking the best player available considering the needs elsewhere. Scott Fitterer made no secret of his desire to adopt this mindset and from what we have seen so far, he is going through with regardless of what should probably take priority from the outside looking in.

Fitterer is playing the board well and reacting accordingly. Taking a wide receiver in the second round would arguably be their strongest positional group despite the departure of Curtis Samuel. But that did not stop the general manager from reuniting Terrace Marshall Jr. with his former passing game coordinator at LSU, Joe Brady.

Brady Christensen is someone who emerged as one of the country’s top left tackles in 2020 protecting No. 2 overall selection Zach Wilson at BYU. Once the lineman fell to an area where the Panthers felt he represented value, they didn’t hesitate to bring him on board.

The same applies to Tommy Tremble, who is a physically imposing tight end with a ton of upside that might develop into the complete package with more opportunities in the passing game that simply wasn’t there for whatever reason at Notre Dame.

Stacking the roster with elite athletes who can make a difference is only going to mean good things for the Panthers moving forward.
