Making moves

This is probably the main area where fans of the Carolina Panthers simply aren’t used to. Scott Fitterer is not afraid to make the moves needed during the pressure-cooker atmosphere of the NFL Draft if he feels it will benefit the franchise, something that has enabled the organization to bring in some intriguing talent without compromising the late-round selections that separate the good teams from the great if they get them right.

Matt Rhule stated in his presser following Day 2 that the Panthers have some players on their board with second or third-round grades heading into the final series of selections. This means they might be able to get some valuable pieces to potentially make an immediate impact and if Fitterer manages to have a similar amount of success with these picks as he did with the Seahawks, it’s going to do their chances of progression in 2021 the world of good.

These are changing and exciting times in Carolina. Fitterer and Rhule are clearly on the same page and working with drive and conviction, something that will ensure new quarterback Sam Darnold is put in the best possible position to make a better go of things after arriving from the New York Jets.

Much will obviously depend on how Darnold gets on. Quarterback is the most important position on the field and considering the players he now has around him, it will only come down to his talent that may or may not be there.
