Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR

  • 2nd round – No. 59 overall

If NFL teams passed on Terrace Marshall Jr. simply because he had his knee scoped recently, they could live to regret their decision. The Carolina Panthers got an absolute bargain when they took the wide receiver at No. 59 after moving down twice in the second round, which gives Sam Darnold another prominent playmaker in the passing game to utilize.

There isn’t a doubt that Marhsall’s previous experience working with Joe Brady from their time together at LSU played a significant role in this pick. This wasn’t anything like an area of significant need where the Panthers are concerned, but the chance to bring in a first-round talent so late in the second was an opportunity they simply couldn’t refuse.

Marshall offers the Panthers something a little bit different from what they already have on their roster. He is a big body that excels catching across the middle, with his speed to get down the field on the outside making him as close to a complete package as you could possibly find.

The prospect will also be a valuable asset in the red zone, which is an area Carolina struggled in 2020. There should be a ton of one-on-one opportunities for Marshall thanks to the presence of D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson on the outside, so providing his transition to the NFL is a smooth one, the sky is the limit.
