4 prospects the Panthers missed out on during the 2021 NFL Draft
By Dean Jones
Which prospects did the Carolina Panthers potentially miss out on during a hugely eventful 2021 NFL Draft for the organization?
It was a hugely successful 2021 NFL Draft for the Carolina Panthers, who brought some exciting college prospects to the organization, gained more draft capital, and even got a fourth-rounder thrown in for next year that they are parting ways with due to the Sam Darnold compensation.
The picks have been largely well-received by leading analysts across the country. But obviously, this will count for nothing if they cannot make a smooth transition to the NFL.
Scott Fitterer’s blossoming relationship with head coach Matt Rhule is something that is sure to stand the Panthers in extremely good stead moving forward. The duo has hit it off in no uncertain terms over the last few months, coming up with a clear sense of direction in pursuit of getting Carolina back into legitimate postseason contention at the earliest possible opportunity.
Carolina Panthers are doing things differently under the new regime.
The sort of strategy implemented by those in power is something of an alien concept in Carolina under previous regimes. Things have been relatively hit and miss for the Panthers – especially in the mid-to-late rounds – so the introduction of Fitterer into the planning has provided a welcome boost at a critical stage of their rebuild.
Darnold and the offensive line will have to live up to their end of the bargain. If they manage to do this, then a postseason place might not be too far behind.
Although it was a strong draft, here are four prospects that the Panthers missed out on throughout the three-day selection process.
