The Alabama/Auburn rivalry between Deonte Brown and Derrick Brown will resume with the Carolina Panthers during training camp, which will see two colossal interior linemen do battle with a view to further improvement ahead of the new season.
There didn’t appear to be much loved lost between the pair when they clashed on the gridiron. But they’ll have to put this all to one side in pursuit of their common goal of getting the Panthers trending in the right direction after two consecutive 5-11 seasons.
Carolina spent plenty of time with Brown at the 2021 Senior Bowl and saw enough in the guard to take him in the sixth round. This might end up being a high-value selection providing the player’s weight doesn’t become too much of an issue moving forward, with his ability both on running downs and in pass protection something that might eventually see him become a starter on opening weekend.

The two big bodies should bring out the best in each other when it’s time to lock horns once again in team drills. How the rookie performs against the No. 7 overall selection in 2020 will go a long way to determining just what role he will take up next season.
