3 Carolina Panthers games that could be on primetime in 2021

Carolina Panthers vs. New England Patriots
The return of the king.
Cam Newton will make an emotional return to Bank of America Stadium for the first time since the Carolina Panthers released their iconic quarterback last year. It wasn’t exactly the best of splits between the two parties, so the 2015 NFL MVP will be chomping at the bit to make the organization he once called home pay the price for giving up on him ahead of time.
This is going to be can’t miss for any NFL fan, which is why out of all the games on Carolina’s schedule in 2021, it is the most likely to be put on primetime.
Newton transformed the franchise from the moment he stepped onto the field. There was more national interest in the team than ever before and the Panthers even came within a whisker of clinching their first-ever Super Bowl with the former Auburn star under center.
Going with Teddy Bridgewater instead of Newton was a gamble that backfired, but the player has plenty of pressure on his shoulders next season after the New England Patriots opted to use their first-round selection on Alabama‘s Mac Jones.
Motivation will come easy for Newton against the Panthers, who treated his release like a normal member of the roster when that was never the case with such a legendary figure.
This game is unlikely to define Carolina’s season. But it’s undoubtedly the most fascinating and something this young roster needs to be ready for.
