Which Carolina Panthers players could be set to take a significant leap forward in terms of production next season?

It’s been another offseason of player movement and notable additions behind the scenes where the Carolina Panthers are concerned. The organization is moving with an increased sense of purpose and there are plenty of reasons to be encouraged about the future, although whether this translates into an instant turnaround in 2021 remains to be seen.

At the very least, the Panthers should be fun to watch and tough to beat once again. The fact they more than held their own against some legitimate Super Bowl contenders in 2020 on their way to losing eight games by one score shows this is a team heading in the right direction and the roster looks more promising now than it’s done in some time.

Much will obviously depend on how the new recruits settle into their surroundings. However, those already on the roster will also be counted upon to make the necessary progression needed to make more of an impression next time around.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at four Panthers players who could be set for a leap forward in 2021.

Bravvion Roy – Carolina Panthers DT

Considering there was little in the way of expectation surrounding Bravvion Roy after the Panthers took him in the sixth round out of Baylor in 2020, his production as a rookie was extremely encouraging. His familiarity with head coach Matt Rhule clearly aided his transition to the professional ranks and if the defensive tackle improves his conditioning this offseason, there could be even more to come.

Carolina signed DaQuan Jones in free agency and also picked up a potential steal in Daviyon Nixon during the NFL Draft. This might see Roy in a rotational role once again, but that should not stop the player from making some noise in his sophomore year.

There should be plenty of one-on-one looks for Roy when he sees the field thanks to the presence of Derrick Brown alongside him and the impressive duo of Brian Burns and Haason Reddick coming off the edge. Hopefully, he can build on the momentum generated last time around and become an important member of the defensive front once again.
