Carolina Panthers vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Carolina Panthers get the chance to get some wins on the board against the NFC East in 2021, which was the league’s worst division by a considerable margin last season. Things might get better for those teams this time around, but it still represents a solid opportunity for Matt Rhule’s men to get some positive results and build essential momentum throughout the campaign.

One such game that they will undoubtedly mark as a winnable one is their home contest against the Philadelphia Eagles, who underwent some notable changes during the offseason that included trading former first-round pick, Carson Wentz, to the Indianapolis Colts.

This is Jalen Hurts’ team now. The Oklahoma product was taken in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and clearly showed enough under center as a rookie to convince those in power that he was the man to lead them back to prominence.

They got Hurts a prominent pass-catching weapon in the form of Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith, with further progression expected from Jalen Reagor in Year 2 and the return to health of Miles Sanders another huge positive.

However, Philadelphia’s defense is a real cause for concern, as is their aging offensive line. So the Panthers should see this as a game they need to pick up a victory from in their quest for a winning season for the first time since 2017.
