This is a ton to give up for a single player, but Aaron Rodgers might just be worth it.

Donte Jackson is a good cornerback and it would hurt the Carolina Panthers if the Green Bay Packers wanted him in any potential deal. However, sacrifices like this are necessary to land a top quarterback.

Sam Darnold to the Packers would definitely be interesting considering Green Bay traded up to select Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The former New York Jet would bring a battle into training camp to see who would be the next face of the franchise.

CBS Sports reporter Jason Lan Canfora recently named the Panthers as a “logical” landing spot for Rodgers despite the acquisition of Darnold. The reasoning behind it comes from David Tepper’s relentless pursuit of a new signal-caller that can shape the fortunes of the team after failing to secure a winning season since 2017.

"“Don’t get caught up in what they are paying Sam Darnold; they just spent a ton just to move Teddy Bridgewater’s contract. David Tepper ain’t crying about $20M here or there. Darnold is still a big gamble; Rodgers provides 3-4 years of certainty.”"

All of the draft selections included in the trade would help the Packers feel better about their life after Rodgers. If his situation is truly unsalvageable, both teams would have to be happy with this trade scenario.
