2 bombshell trade offers for the Panthers to land Aaron Rodgers
By Will Burns
Aaron Rodgers trade package No. 2
Now, this is a wild scenario, but it makes a lot of sense.
The Carolina Panthers obviously end up with Aaron Rodgers and a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl. In this scenario, they lose none of their current players, giving their signal-caller more immediate help.
This would leave the Panthers a little light on draft picks for the foreseeable future. But with most of the young core already in place, it wouldn’t hurt that much.
The Green Bay Packers get a massive haul of selections, allowing them to stack the team around Jordan Love. Even if the second-year player were to be a bust, two future firsts and a pair of seconds would give them more than enough opportunities to find their next quarterback.
The Pittsburgh Steelers getting in on the trade also makes a lot of sense because right now they have 39-year-old Ben Roethlisberger who made it apparent last season he was on the decline. Acquiring his potential successor in Sam Darnold might make them feel more confident for the future.
All parties involved in trade would benefit given the situation.
It’s always fun to play the “what if” game, especially with a player of Rodgers’ caliber, and I would be thrilled to see him in Charlotte.
